Leave

So long as the leave is entered fully and the dates are logical the system will attempt to post the leave to the database.

If the leave you are submitting overlaps an existing period then you will get an error message. As this is a demonstration system you can delete existing leave whenever you like. Click the checkbox     then press the delete button . In a normal system you would probably not be able to delete your own leave once it has been approved.

When your leave request is submitted it will initially be pending P. If it is approved you will see an acceptance symbol later in the day. If it is rejected you will see a rejection symbol .

Sickness
The recording of sickness is similar to leave except sickness overrides all other leave so that level of error checking is not present.

In recording sickness it is necessary to enter a Level 1 categorisation of the sickness and then the further detail from the sub category Level 2. Sickness information is very sensitive and care should always be taken to ensure that the two categories entered are correctly. If the reason for sickness is not known then the appropriate Unknown or Not Specified option should be selected. This is the only time that the system will not require a sub category Level 2 reason.
